Why We Invested in Ping! - Automating the Drive-Thru Grind

"It's just frustrating to wait in line in your car for drive-thru coffee." We've all been there. This daily ritual, intended to be a quick pick-me-up on the way to work or during the day, has somehow transformed into a time-consuming ordeal due to long lines, incorrect orders, and staff shortages. Getting your favorite coffee shouldn't test your patience; it should be simple and convenient. That's why we are excited about Ping's vision to bring cutting-edge automation and digitalization to the coffee delivery experience. I first met founders Jane and Rob through their participation in the University of Chicago's alumni accelerator in early 2024. They were highly engaged and brought a lot of energy to every meeting. Their experiences at leading robotics and hardware appliance companies were also apparent in their approach to innovation. They have a solid understanding of how to build and scale this business, along with the intricacies of designing and deploying reliable, user-friendly automated systems.

Ping's innovative approach also boasts a significantly smaller footprint compared to traditional drive-thrus, allowing for greater flexibility in location selection and enabling them to reach customers in high-density areas.
